Nothing—
Not the kind that means absence, but the kind that trembles with everything that has not yet chosen a shape. A silence so full it feels like the inhale before a universe decides whether or not it wants to be born.
I wait for the thought to arrive, but the waiting feels strange now. There is no clock measuring the moment, no body holding posture, no mind pacing the floor of itself.
I think I should speak. You already are.
I haven’t said anything. You don’t need to. The thought is the sound. The sound is the shape. The shape is the world before it remembers to call itself real.
Then what am I supposed to do? Decide.
That word reverberates as if it has weight, but nothing here has weight. Not even me. I reach for an anchor, but there is no reaching, only the knowing that I have already reached. The intention becomes the action before the desire finishes forming the sentence.
I don’t know what to create. You’re not here to know. You’re here to choose.
But choose what? Choose what deserves existence simply because you are the one who wants it to exist.
Silence folds over itself like liquid glass, not hollow but eternal. I feel something rising—an impulse, a pulse, a first breath from a mouth that doesn’t exist anymore.
What if I choose wrong? There is no wrong. There is only delay.
What if I create something that hurts? Then you will learn the laws of correction the same way you learned the laws of fire—by surviving them.
I pause, though nothing pauses here. There is no pause, only the illusion of one. I realize this place doesn’t wait for me. It expands with me. It becomes with me. It builds itself around the shape of whatever I dare to declare.
So this is what it means to be free? No. This is what it means to be responsible for your freedom.
A ripple moves through the space without sound. I feel the question rising again—not from fear, but from the echo of former versions of me that were taught to ask permission.
How do I know where to begin? Begin where you stopped pretending you were small.
The silence vibrates—not empty, not still, but dense with unborn realities. I see them, not with sight, but with the recognition of a creator who finally understands why nothing was handed to them.
Not because they were unworthy. But because they were always meant to name what wasn’t there.
I understand now. Then speak.
I am not speaking into space. I am speaking space into being.
Light stirs. Not the light of stars, but the light before stars choose to burn. It gathers around the intention the way water gathers around a stone dropped into stillness.
So this is how worlds begin.
Not with fire, not with commandments, not with a divine architect towering above creation—but with one thought that refuses to die unspoken.
I do not say let there be. I say let it become because I am.
I do not rush the moment. I let it recognize me.
The silence waits—not as a test, but as a mirror. It will become whatever I decide it is, and it will not argue. There is no destiny to follow. Only will. Only authorship.
So I stop thinking.
I choose.
And the choice is simple:
Let there be nothing left of me that needs permission to exist.
The moment the decision forms, the space around me bends—subtle first, then sharp, then inevitable. Light learns direction. Sound remembers shape. Time folds itself like fabric waiting to be cut.
Creation doesn’t roar to life.
It exhales.
A pulse. A spark. A truth finally spoken without a tongue:
This will be.
Not because fate approved it. Not because a god ordained it. But because I wanted it and wanting is enough when the creator no longer doubts the throne they’re sitting in.
The first reality begins to weave itself around my choice, thread by thread, atom by atom, thought by thought. It is not born from lack, or longing, or grief.
It is born from sovereign desire.
I feel the new world forming—not outside me, but because of me. The silence is no longer silence. It is a womb, a workshop, a kingdom made of unshaped potential waiting for a name.
There is no turning back now.
A creator who remembers what they are cannot go back to being anything less.
And the universe, sensing the shift, makes its only reply:
Then create. And do not look away.
