When the Sky Kept Its Promise

I always knew this day would come.

Not because someone told me.
Not because I read it in a book.
But because there was something ancient in me that never doubted it.

The day the planets would line up.
The day the sky would stop whispering and start speaking plainly.

I wanted to take you with me.

I wanted you to be the one who stood when the air got thin and the truth got heavy. I wanted your words to match your actions. I wanted promises to be something sacred instead of something said in passing. I wanted truth to stand in the sun without flinching.

I wanted the dance under the moonlight to be real.

But there is something the elders say.
You can only carry forward what is true.
Only what is earned.
Only what stands for you in rooms where everyone else folds.

That part is not romantic. It is law.

Some things were written long before we arrived here. Not fate in the childish sense. Not destiny like a fairytale. More like a pattern in the sky that waits for the right moment to reveal itself.

And I waited.

I watched to see who would do right.
Who would stand steady.
Who would remain when the noise cleared.

It was when I fell silent that you should have known.

Silence is not weakness in me. Silence is the closing of a gate. When the words stop flowing, it is because they have already been said in every language the soul knows. When there are no more explanations, no more defending, no more proving, that is when the tide has already gone out.

Everything I had to say washed up on a shore that would never answer back.

So I drove to the cemetery.

Not because someone died.
But because something had to be buried.

Hope that could no longer breathe.
A version of the future that had no backbone.
A story that looked beautiful in the dark but could not survive the sun.

I laid it down quietly.
No witnesses.
No drama.
Just earth over something I could no longer carry.

And then the sky shifted.

This month, the mystics are watching the heavens like they always do. A red moon rising. A lunar eclipse cutting shadow across light. Planets lining up like soldiers in formation. Mercury moving backward, dragging old words back to the surface. Conversations unfinished. Masks slipping. Covers blown.

They say when the moon turns red, it reveals what was hidden. That eclipses pull truth out of the dark and force it to stand in front of you. That alignments thin the veil between what you wanted to believe and what actually is.

The mystics believe this is not random.

They believe when the sky rearranges itself, so do we.
That old karmic threads tighten.
That illusions crack.
That anything built on half-truths cannot survive under a blood moon.

And here we are.

The day the planets aligned.

The day what was whispered became obvious.

I have always felt married to the moon and stars. Born under a sky that marked me with something I cannot explain. Knowing things I should not know. Feeling shifts before they happen. Watching energy move before words catch up.

You call it intuition.
The mystics call it remembrance.

When Mercury walks backward, secrets trip over themselves.
When the eclipse comes, shadows lose their hiding place.
When the planets line up, choices become permanent.

This is not punishment.
This is exposure.

You wonder who will show up.
You wonder who will stand.

That is the real question of any alignment.

Because when the sky calls your name, you cannot fake your weight. You either stand in truth or you fold under it. You either match your words or you watch them dissolve in the red light.

I wanted you beside me when this happened.

But only what is true can cross certain thresholds.

When I went silent, that was the moment the door closed.
When I buried it, that was the moment the sky answered.

The moon does not beg.
The eclipse does not argue.
The planets do not rearrange themselves for someone who cannot hold their position.

This month carries heat.
It carries endings dressed as awakenings.
It carries the kind of exposure that makes you choose who you really are.

The mystics would say this is a karmic checkpoint.
A cosmic audit.
A thinning of illusion.

I would say it is simpler than that.

It is the moment you realize you cannot take everyone where you are going.

Only what stands for you in rooms where others turn against you.
Only what keeps its promise when no one is watching.
Only what remains when silence falls.

The day the planets aligned was never about the sky.

It was about who could stand in it.

And who could not.
