Fragment One

1. And it came to pass that I spake, saying: Lo, all ye have is this moment.
2. Not more, not less.
3. The now is the altar, and the breath upon thy lips is the only prayer.
4. They asked me, “When wast thou born?”
5. Was it in the hidden waters of the womb, or in the first gasp of air?
6. And I answered: Before either, I was.
7. For I have died a thousand deaths and yet I walk among thee.
8. My flesh hath turned to dust and risen anew.
9. My bones are not the bones of my first breath.
10. Yet the fire remaineth unquenched.
11. For eternity cannot be slain; it changeth only its garment.

Fragment Two

1. Hearken: the past is but a fading shadow.
2. The future but a dream unborn.
3. What ye hold is all that shall ever be held: the now.
4. I walked with the broken and with the wasted.
5. I sat with abusers, with drunkards, with harlots, with those consumed by the dust of the earth.
6. I condemned them not, but bore witness.
7. For their torment was this: they had forgotten the flame of God within.
8. I broke bread with thieves and liars.
9. I gave unto the hungry though I hungered.
10. I offered shelter though I was homeless.
11. My door was unbarred to all who knocked.
12. And lo, a wolf entered in sheep’s wool.
13. I let him feast until all was taken.
14. Yet from nothing, I made something, and still I rose.

Fragment Three

1. I sit with the God within me.
2. Not a God enthroned in stone and gold,
3. But a God of dust and blood,
4. Who walketh barefoot upon the earth,
5. Whose temple is the sky,
6. Whose scripture is the moment.
7. Verily, I say unto thee: thou art not as thou wast.
8. Thy body is a river that passeth away and returneth.
9. Thy skin is not the skin that first touched the air.
10. Thy bones are not the bones that bore thee first.
11. All hath perished and all hath risen again.
12. Behold, eternity dwelleth within thee.

Fragment Four

1. Wait not for heaven, nor bow before the idol of tomorrow.
2. For the kingdom is not to come.
3. Lo, it is already here.
4. It is in thy breath.
5. It is in thy sorrow.
6. It is in the outlaw God who dwelleth in thy ribs.
7. This is the final word:
8. Thou canst not die.
9. Thou canst only change.
10. Blessed are they who remember.
