Turning nothing into something isn’t complicated. The real trick is knowing when to turn something into nothing. That takes movement. That takes courage. It takes the guts to walk away from people who only believe they hold power over you—but don’t.
These are the ones who love to make things complicated just so they can feel important. The ones who thrive on turning simple tasks into power plays. They create a perfect balance of time wasted and energy drained, then act like they’ve achieved something. “It’s me, I’m important,” they say, while causing more work that means nothing at all.
But here’s the truth: if we’re here, then we’re here because we earned it. Some of us didn’t want shortcuts or stolen credit—we put in the work. Still, there are always those who crave the spotlight. The ones who don’t just want to stand in it, but to be the one—better than all the rest.
What does it take to get to a place no one else has gone? It’s simpler than people make it:
Do what you say.
Say what you mean.
And above all, don’t feed the beast.
Because when the beast growls, it means it’s starving. Not for food, but for what it can’t create on its own. Attention. Validation. Drama.
It’s the easiest thing in the world to stop feeding it, but for so many people, it feels impossible. Why? Because choosing peace requires effort. It requires discipline. Peace doesn’t live in a sink full of dirty dishes. It doesn’t grow in a space where people only take but never build. If all you do is drain from the well, eventually the gift horse shuts its mouth, and you’ll be left with nothing but silence.
If you don’t want backs turned against you, keep your word. If you want love, give love. If you want respect, be respectable. It’s not complicated. And there is no “fake it till you make it.” That’s a lie sold to people too afraid to face themselves. You can’t fake integrity. You can’t fake honor. You can’t fake being real. Pretending works for a moment, but truth always outlasts the costume.
At some point you’ll face the question: do you want to be loved, or do you want to be right? You’ll face it most when you’re standing across from a friend. Because a friend can become a stranger again, just like they once were.
And enemies? They’re even easier to escape. Just climb above them. Get high enough, and all you’ll see are the tops of their heads. From that height, you won’t hear a single word of the gossip that once sounded so loud.
What’s worse than enemies are the people who don’t know you but speak as if they do. You’ve been in rooms you never entered, discussed by people who couldn’t survive one day in your shoes. Words sharp enough to cut, but empty at the core—spoken by those who spend their lives circling each other in small rooms.
And yet, the solution remains simple. How many of us have been told we’re “too difficult” just for asking for honesty? How many have been painted as the problem because we refused to play dumb? People will throw trash around and wonder why no one chooses them. They smell like yesterday’s catch and still ask why they’re not picked. The answer is right there: because you stink.
Life doesn’t have to be as hard as people make it. It’s as simple as stopping to smell the flowers, even on a day when everything feels like too much. Especially on those days.
Because turning nothing into something has always been simple. The real work lies in knowing when to turn something toxic into nothing at all.
