The View

There comes a point in the journey where you look down from the mountaintop and realize just how far you’ve climbed. Not in miles. In growth. In soul. In clarity. You stand there, in the silence of your own presence, finally able to see everything you once tolerated, everything you once gave power to, for what it truly was—lessons. Not losses. Just necessary fires you had to walk through to become who you are now.

The healed version of you doesn’t look back with rage. It looks back with understanding—and a quiet sort of power. A deep breath in and a long exhale. You remember the people who never deserved your kindness. The ones who smiled with their teeth but never with their hearts. You remember the places that drained you, rooms you never belonged in, where your spirit shrank to fit. You remember the version of yourself that tolerated all of it out of fear, out of hope, out of not knowing better. And now you do.

The truth hits: none of them would have made it into your life today. Not a single one. You wouldn’t pick up the phone. You wouldn’t answer the door. Because now, you know. You know what real energy feels like. You know what it means to be seen without having to bleed for it. You know that love without respect is just control in disguise.

There is no space left for regret. No more playing reruns in your head. They don’t get that kind of access anymore. You’ve evicted them from your mind. There are no “should’ve saids,” no “if onlys.” There is just peace. Unapologetic, earned peace. And when they think of you—and they will—it’ll be in dreams. Ghost-like. Distant. They’ll be running through memory, but you won’t answer the call. Not even in sleep.

When their names come up in conversation, you won’t flinch. You won’t fold. They are strangers now. They always were, in spirit. You just hadn’t learned to see it clearly. But now? Now your vision is sharp. You’ve cleaned the fog from your lens. You know who your people are—the ones who found you when you were nothing but ash, and stayed to watch you rise. The ones who never asked for your fire but kept you warm with theirs.

The emotional weight you once carried like armor? It’s gone. Left it at the door when you walked into this new chapter. No need to explain yourself anymore. No need to dissect why it hurt, or how long it lasted. It is what it is. And it’s over. That’s the gift of awakening. You begin to feel energy before it even speaks. You trust your instinct like it’s divine scripture. You walk into a room and know if you’re meant to stay or if it’s time to go—and you honor that knowing without question.

Life moves strange after this kind of healing. Fast and slow all at once. Hours stretch and collapse. You’re no longer waiting for something to happen. You are what’s happening. You’re no longer watching your life. You’re guiding it. You’re in it. Fully.

And when you realize you’re in control—not of others, not of the chaos around you, but of yourself—that’s when the magic starts. The desperate grip you once had on emotions begins to ease. You’re no longer a puppet to the push and pull of outside forces. You choose what you let in. You choose what you feed.

There’s no reaching anymore. No leaning into empty space. You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. Present. Awake. Still. No longer asking the wind for answers. No longer begging the past for closure. You’re the sailor. This is your sea. And you’ll ride every wave, from calm to storm, until the end.

Because now, you’ve arrived.
