I do not care to be liked.
That sentence alone terrifies people more than rage ever could.
Because people can handle anger.
They can handle drama.
They can handle someone screaming, crying, throwing chairs, posting paragraphs online like a wounded raccoon fighting for emotional custody of its own bad decisions.
But a person who genuinely does not care to be liked?
That person is dangerous.
Not dangerous in the loud way.
Dangerous in the calm way.
The way hurricanes look peaceful from space.
I hope you hate me with your whole chest.
Matter of fact, stand on it.
Put your back into it.
Stretch before you do it if you need to.
Because fake love exhausts me more than honest hatred ever will.
At least enemies are direct.
At least enemies save everybody time.
But some people are not brave enough to be your enemy.
So they audition for the role of your friend instead.
And that…
That is where the real weirdness begins.
See, enemies attack from the front.
Fake friends study you like a survival manual.
They clap too loud.
Smile too hard.
Ask too many questions.
Watch your life with the emotional intensity of a detective trying to crack a case nobody asked them to solve.
Those people do not want to sit at your table because they love you.
They want to know how you built the table.
How you survived.
How you stayed soft after life tried to turn you into concrete.
How you kept laughing after things that should have buried you.
People study what they secretly envy.
And envy is a strange disease because it forces people to stand close to the very thing making them sick.
You ever notice how certain people always “support” you while quietly hoping you fail?
That energy is real.
You can feel it.
Compliments with teeth in them.
Smiles with funeral music behind them.
The kind of people who say:
“I’m proud of you.”
But their spirit whispers:
“Why wasn’t it me?”
And honestly?
I do not even hate those people anymore.
That is the funny part.
I used to think revenge was necessary.
Now I think distance is holier.
Silence is holier.
Watching people remove themselves from your life after realizing they can no longer manipulate your emotions?
That is divine comedy.
Because the universe handles things better than I ever could.
Some of us are protected in ways that make no logical sense.
Doors close before disasters happen.
People disappear right before betrayal lands.
Plans fall apart only for better ones to appear later.
Meanwhile the people who tried to play games with your life slowly collapse under the weight of their own choices.
Not because you cursed them.
Not because you got revenge.
Because eventually people meet themselves.
That is the real punishment.
Imagine spending years lying, manipulating, pretending, calculating…
Only to wake up one day and realize the person ruining your life was your own reflection the entire time.
That is a level of horror no enemy could ever create.
The universe does not always strike with lightning.
Sometimes it simply removes protection.
And suddenly every bad decision a person made starts collecting interest.
Meanwhile the divinely protected keep moving.
Still laughing.
Still loving.
Still building.
Still glowing after surviving things that should have turned them bitter.
That is what bothers people the most.
Not your anger.
Not your words.
Your peace.
Your ability to walk away without needing to destroy anybody.
Your refusal to become ugly just because life introduced you to ugly people.
And trust me…
Nothing confuses manipulative people more than someone they can no longer emotionally access.
That drives them insane.
Because they expected a war.
Instead they got silence.
They expected revenge.
Instead they watched you evolve.
And evolution is disrespectful to people committed to staying the same.
So let them hate you.
Whole chest out.
Matching shoes and handbag if necessary.
Let them gather in little circles trying to understand how you kept surviving things designed to break you.
You do not owe the world likability.
You owe yourself authenticity.
Some people will call you cold simply because they no longer have access to your warmth.
Some people will call you arrogant because you stopped shrinking to make them comfortable.
Some people will call you evil because your boundaries interrupted their entitlement.
Let them.
The sun does not ask permission to shine.
And wolves do not lose sleep because sheep misunderstood their teeth.
At the end of the day, the universe has a funny way of revealing who was genuine and who was just standing nearby waiting for your downfall.
Time exposes everybody.
Especially the ones smiling while sharpening knives behind their back.
