You ever notice how the loudest motivational speaker in your life… is also the one avoiding their own life like it’s a group project they forgot about?
Yeah.
That’s you.
Standing there.
Chest puffed out.
Preaching like you invented purpose.
Meanwhile… you’ve been dodging your own for how long now?
Be honest.
Not cute-honest.
Real honest.
How long has it been since you started that thing you keep giving TED Talks about in your own head?
The doubt.
The avoidance.
The professional-level self-sabotage dressed up as “I’m just being realistic.”
It’s almost impressive at this point.
Like… if procrastination were an Olympic sport, you’d have a gold medal, a sponsorship, and a documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman.
“It was at this moment… she said ‘I’ll start Monday.’”
And then Monday packed its bags and left.
Along with Tuesday.
And honestly, Wednesday stopped believing in you too.
Here’s the part that stings a little.
People who started after you…
Yeah. Them.
The ones you low-key judged.
The ones you said “they can’t… they won’t… they shouldn’t…”
They did.
They absolutely did.
While you were standing there holding your “perfect timing” like it was a winning lottery ticket…
They cashed theirs in.
Now they’re up there.
Living it.
Building it.
Posting about it.
And you’re still down here like, “I mean… I could… but also… what if Mercury is in retrograde and my left knee isn’t emotionally ready?”
At some point, you didn’t just hesitate.
You fell on your own sword.
Dramatically.
Like a Shakespeare character with trust issues.
And instead of getting up…
You started blaming the sword.
“It’s not me. It’s the environment.”
“It’s not me. It’s the timing.”
“It’s not me. It’s people.”
It’s always people, isn’t it?
Meanwhile… people are out here doing the exact thing you said couldn’t be done.
Wild.
Absolutely disrespectful to your excuses, honestly.
And the time thing?
Oh, that’s my favorite.
You keep saying, “It’s still early.”
Baby… early packed up and moved out a while ago.
Late is knocking.
The train?
Gone.
The passengers?
Already at their destination, posting selfies like, “Wow, so grateful for the journey.”
And you?
Still at the station.
No ticket.
No plan.
Just vibes and denial.
Waiting on a ride that’s never coming…
Because the ride requires you to actually show up.
I know.
Rude.
And the pride?
Oh, you swallow that thing like it’s a trophy.
Like, “Look at me, I didn’t try and fail, so technically I didn’t lose.”
Congratulations.
You also didn’t win.
Meanwhile… the version of you that kept going?
Yeah, that one?
Hi.
That’s me.
I stopped counting seconds.
I started stacking wins.
Small ones.
Ugly ones.
The kind you don’t post because they don’t look aesthetic.
While you were whispering doubt in my ear like a toxic podcast…
I was building everything you said “no” to.
Brick by brick.
Decision by decision.
Messy.
Imperfect.
Done anyway.
You said I’d amount to nothing.
You said I was the problem.
You said I should stop.
And every single one of those sentences?
Fuel.
Premium.
Unleaded.
Straight into the engine.
Every room you were too scared to walk into?
I walked in.
Too early.
Too late.
Too much.
Didn’t matter.
I still showed up.
While you stood outside rehearsing your exit speech…
I was already inside making introductions.
You ran the other direction.
I stayed.
You wished me failure.
I built success out of it.
You tried to bury me in doubt…
I used it as fertilizer.
Here’s the twist though.
The part you’re not gonna like.
I don’t hate you.
Not even a little.
I can’t.
Because you’re the reason I moved.
You’re the voice that got so loud…
I had no choice but to prove it wrong.
You didn’t stop me.
You built me.
So yeah…
Took you long enough.
