Today, the routine has power.
It doesn’t ask how you slept.
It doesn’t negotiate with your mood.
It doesn’t care if the day was long, if your heart is heavy, or if everything feels easy for once.
It waits.
And when you show up, it takes everything you have.
I come to this place where iron meets rubber, meets mat.
A place that strips away excuses without saying a word.
A place that forces me to face myself every single day.
There are no rest days here.
Not because the body can’t pause, but because this stopped being about the body a long time ago.
This is about the mind staying disciplined when comfort starts whispering lies.
Focused.
Locked in.
Committed to finishing what I started.
The same clock gives us all the same hours.
You don’t “find” time.
You make it.
If you wait until life calms down, you’ll never step on the mat that demands your full attention. And without focus here, the body gets hurt. This place requires presence.
Muscle meets memory.
Breath meets effort.
Pain meets the reminder that you’re still alive.
This is where the one percent shows up.
Not because we’re special.
Because we decided not to lie to ourselves today.
No excuses.
And yes, that means none.
Then we leave this place and walk back into the world.
We hear the conversations that should’ve ended years ago.
The relationship that died long before anyone admitted it.
Two people lying next to each other, feeling more alone than they ever did by themselves.
Staying for comfort. Staying for fear. Staying because being seen feels harder than being empty.
What’s missing?
You are.
We hear about the job that “pays the bills” but somehow drains the soul.
The systems that make no sense.
The hoops everyone jumps through with a forced smile because a paycheck is still a paycheck.
And then there are the victims.
The ones trapped in their own lives, waiting for someone to rescue them from choices they refuse to own.
Deep down, they don’t want change.
They want permission to stay stuck.
We can’t fix people being people.
That isn’t our assignment.
At lunch, we heat up the food we planned ahead of time.
Not because it’s exciting, but because discipline doesn’t need applause.
We don’t let overpriced food services hand us mystery meals we didn’t choose.
We carry water like it matters.
Because it does.
You won’t catch us dehydrated, bloated, foggy, and wondering why we feel like trash in the place we love most.
We skip the cookies.
Ignore the cake.
Keep our distance from refined sugar.
Not because it makes us better than anyone.
Because it makes us healthier. Clearer. Stronger.
When we make the decisions you don’t want to make, our minds get quiet.
When we walk into a room, we are the energy.
And that makes people uncomfortable.
You hate us because we are the version of you that requires effort.
The version you want, but won’t pause long enough to build.
Becoming costs something.
If you won’t pay the price, you don’t get to complain about the bill.
We don’t drag ourselves out of bed.
We rise.
We rise so the monster knows we’re here.
So fear doesn’t get comfortable.
So excuses don’t settle in.
You want us to sympathize with every bad decision you’ve wrapped in a sad story.
Your parents.
Your childhood.
Your cousin.
That one person from twenty years ago.
Pain is real.
Bleeding on everyone around you is a choice.
You cling to things because letting go would mean admitting they don’t control you anymore.
You inhale chemicals to silence the voice in your head.
That voice isn’t attacking you.
It’s screaming because you refuse to listen.
No one wants to talk about that.
You keep telling us how hard life is.
But who told you this was hard?
You’re still here.
You’ve always landed on your feet.
You made it this far.
Let’s talk about gratitude.
If all you have right now is breath in your lungs and clothes on your back, you are already ahead of someone taking a one-way exit tonight.
Someone who didn’t choose it.
Someone who won’t wake up tomorrow.
Out of billions of chances, here you are.
So lift your head.
Or don’t.
This rock will keep spinning.
The sun will keep rising.
And no one is coming to save you.
This is on you.
Cry about it.
Scream about it.
Curse the sky if you need to.
Or maybe, just maybe, look up and realize how blessed you already are.
Stop complaining.
