Reditio Aeternum

The first entry in the journal begins. Enter the main-character era.

From where I stand, it looks like watching winter tip into spring. A solitary figure steps over an unseen threshold, leaving behind the weight of old roles and unspoken suffering like a second skin. There’s no ceremony, no trumpet sound—yet everything changes the moment those feet touch new ground. A life of their own making rises to meet them; every desire once buried beneath silence and sacrifice is now permitted. There is no gatekeeper. There is no asking. Only receiving. This is what it looks like when someone stops begging for what was always theirs.

On that open earth, the traveler lifts their gaze and calls every silent debt home. The words do not echo; they land, they move, they root. Each careless hand that dipped into their energy, each bruise wrapped in false kindness, every forgotten apology—marked and counted. The reckoning begins now. Those who once took without cost feel the emptiness they left behind. The ripple goes out and will return, again and again, with interest. What was done to one is now done to them.

There’s no bitterness in the traveler’s voice. No vengeance. Just truth spoken like law, like thunder—the kind that shifts something in the bones of the world.

“Return to me,” they whisper—not just to the energy, not just to the time or the love or the tears, but to the self that was scattered in the mouths and hands of others. And it does return. What was poured into barren ground now breaks free of foreign roots and rushes home. In its place, drought. May those who drank from stolen cups taste what they gave. May they know the thirst they caused.

The words rise not as poetry but as power. This is no performance. This is spellwork—the kind that cannot be undone. The binding has been cast.

To those who trespassed in this life and the next, the spell is spoken over your name: What you gave shall now be yours.
The ache. The confusion. The weight. It is returned in the light and in the dark. There is no evading this balance. There is no hiding from what you planted.

Around the traveler, a shield of light gathers—steady and impenetrable. No one enters unless pure; no one leaves unchanged. Ill will folds back in on itself. Spite collapses under its own weight. Chaos and curses mailed in secrecy now boomerang through the air, returned to sender, stamped and sealed. The evil eye above sees and hears. It does not forget.

And still, the journey goes on. Through water and wind, over land and ash, the traveler has paid their toll. Shorelines carried their grief. Mountains held their rage. Oceans whispered away the secrets never meant to be theirs. Deserts burned away what clung too long. The elements witnessed everything. The contract is eternal.

Now, kneeling in sacred stillness, staff in hand, the traveler offers the last of what was never theirs to carry. Rain—real or imagined—meets skin, and with it, release. The final grief is not for others; it is the mourning of silence, of years gone in restraint, of power once quieted.

They rise slowly. Not broken. Not bent. But rebuilt. Grace ends here. Worry is no longer theirs to hold.

Somewhere above, a raven calls—sharp and sure, a black syllable against the sky. It is done. What was done to one is now done to them. The words cannot be broken. Balance has returned, and this time, it will hold.

And to you the traveler says—the one this is returned to:

Hey You

May you feel it fully.
May every tear, every ache, every sleepless night once carried for you now find its rightful home.
This is yours. It always was.
Let it teach you what you refused to learn.
Let it break you open, if it must.

The traveler carries nothing that belongs to you anymore.
Take what’s yours.
Hold it close.
And live with it.

My energy now returned to me threefold.
