When you go into the darkness, you can’t take anyone with you.
No matter how close they are.
No matter how much they say they love you.
No matter how much you want them to understand.
This isn’t a group trip.
It’s a one-way ticket into the depths of your own undoing—
solo class only.
It starts with a whisper, a tremor, a silent scream beneath your skin that says,
“This isn’t real. None of this is real.”
And before you know it, the scaffolding that held up your entire belief system crumbles.
Organized religion, dogma, the rules of morality that were spoon-fed to you like bitter medicine—
you spit it all out.
Not in rage, but in exhaustion.
You become the hermit in the tower.
Watching others play the part down below, laughing, crying, worshiping idols you can’t see anymore.
And you wonder:
What is this all for?
Why does it make perfect sense… and no sense at all?
Even those you once called kin begin to drift away,
not in betrayal, but as if a current carried them to a shore you’re no longer welcome on.
Your soul stops trying to be understood.
You begin to understand that you were never meant to be.
And so you turn inward.
Not out of preference, but out of necessity.
You read the sacred texts.
You devour the words of great men.
And yet—
none of it feels like truth anymore.
The deeper you go, the more you see:
Most people are terrified of their own shadows.
They run from them.
Drink them away.
Talk them away.
Sleep with strangers to quiet them.
Pretend to be something else, someone better, someone worthy—
because the truth of who they are is too damn heavy to carry.
And you?
You attract them like moths to your flame.
People who want your fire but fear the burn.
People who speak of healing but have never dared step into the wound.
You start to see the world for what it is:
a masquerade of self-hatred dressed up in curated images and rented smiles.
Everyone wants to be loved but no one knows how to love themselves.
Everyone wants peace but worships drama.
Everyone wants truth but lies with practiced ease to survive their own illusion.
And so you retreat.
You hide in the home you built that no longer feels like home.
You become a ghost in your own sanctuary.
The reflection in the mirror a stranger wearing your skin.
You wake up not because you want to—
but because there’s nothing else left to fight for.
You hate everything.
Including yourself.
And there it is again:
What is this all for?
You go still.
You go silent.
You go within.
You count the wreckage like rosary beads:
the wrong turns, the self-inflicted wounds, the people you trusted who never deserved it.
You question everything.
You deny everything.
You bargain with the universe for meaning and it stays mute.
You stare at the walls of your mind,
every brick a memory, a shame, a “what if.”
It feels like prison.
It is prison.
A soul trapped in a body you never asked for.
A consciousness aware of its own suffering.
A cosmic joke.
You laugh.
Then you cry.
Then you finally…
just sit.
And in that stillness,
a whisper again.
This time, softer.
Gentler.
Not from outside.
But from within.
“Forgive.”
Not because they deserve it.
Not because you forget.
But because you do.
Because carrying all that poison has rotted you from the inside out.
You see them now.
Wounded.
Limited.
Human.
They did what they did from where they were.
And so did you.
You let go—not because it’s easy,
but because you want to live.
Really live.
With all the scars, all the cracks, all the chaos still humming in your blood—
you rise.
Something shifts.
Something sacred.
The inner loathing fades.
The mirror becomes softer.
You recognize the face.
You don’t flinch.
You nod.
And for the first time in what feels like lifetimes,
you love yourself.
Not in the pretty, Instagrammable way—
but in the way that says:
I see you. I forgive you. I choose you.
You walk taller.
The world still spins madly,
but the noise has dulled.
You don’t need answers.
You don’t need applause.
You don’t need to be understood.
Because now—
you belong to yourself.
The dark tower becomes your temple.
And the path you once feared?
It was always your initiation.
A death.
A rebirth.
You are not healed.
You are becoming.
And now,
you have purpose.
Not given.
Not borrowed.
But forged
in the fire
of your own becoming.
